Chatsworth strengthens again through Acorn acquisition

Best UK Independent Education Provider 2023 and double Education Investor award winner Chatsworth Schools has this week acquired Wimbledon based The London Acorn School.

The London Acorn School is an independent School and Nursery for children aged 3 years  – 11 years old.  As The London Acorn School approaches its first ten-year anniversary Mrs Sarah Thorne, Founder and Head, believes the school would benefit from more highly experienced and specialised support and governance leadership to continue to grow.

There are now 15 schools and nurseries in the Chatsworth Schools family in the United Kingdom.  Each school, whilst sharing the core values of Integrity, Resilience and Passion, is quite unique and caters for the needs of its children, staff and parents.  All Chatsworth Schools are non-selective where teachers build on children’s innate awe and curiosity to create an engaging, innovative curriculum that ties together skills, knowledge and context to enable their children to become confident, well-rounded individuals and lifelong learners.

Mrs Sarah Thorne, Founder and Head of The London Acorn School, said: “I am delighted that The London Acorn School has been welcomed into the Chatsworth family of schools. We have so many core values in common and Chatsworth Schools’ proven track record of outstanding educational leadership makes so many specialist support skills available to our pupils and staff that will benefit the whole school community.”

Anita Gleave, Founder and CEO, Chatsworth Schools, said: “We are delighted that The London Acorn School is the eleventh school to join the Chatsworth Schools family. Through high standards, a commitment to excellence and by fostering a love of learning, Chatsworth Schools enables children to become confident, well-rounded individuals and lifelong learners.”

She added, “We look forward to bringing our innovative educational philosophy and extensive experience to The London Acorn School and continuing with the school’s guiding principle of creating a happy environment where children matter most and can extend their potential to the full.”
