Chatsworth Schools is delighted to share the appointment of Mr Charles ‘Charlie’ Stafford Northcote as Head of Pattison from September 2024. Charlie is an experienced and innovative school leader having been Head at Leicester Prep and St. Bede’s, Bishton before joining Pattison.
Graeme Delaney, current Pattison Head and Director of Education, Chatsworth Schools will remain Executive Principal at Pattison to support Charlie and Pattison’s expansion project.
On his appointment, Charlie said “Taking over from Graeme as the Head of Pattison from September fills me with both excitement and a profound sense of honour. Over the years, having worked closely with Graeme, I’ve witnessed firsthand the remarkable impact and the transformative changes he has brought to our school.
His legacy is one of dedication, innovation, and a pursuit of excellence, which has not only elevated our school but has also set a new standard of educational leadership at Pattison. Succeeding someone of his calibre is undoubtedly daunting, yet it inspires me with a sense of purpose and commitment.”
On Charlie’s appointment, Graeme said “I have been in education for a long time but of all of the schools I have been involved in, Pattison’s soul and spirit have grabbed me wholeheartedly in the three years I have been Head there. Pattison is a school where its inclusivity is its real strength: its pupils come from diverse backgrounds, but all share a common goal, namely, to do their best and to work with and to help each other. Being a performing arts school is the icing on the cake for me and it has been a privilege to attend the many shows put on by the pupils, staff and friends of the school.
As the school celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and we remember Miss Patt and what she and her daughter, Elizabeth, did for the school, we look forward to the exciting future of Pattison, with the acquisition of two new buildings, allowing not only an increase in the size of the school, but also the creation of our Sixth Form, to be driven by the very able Charlie Stafford Northcote. Charlie has a great track record, having run two schools, and his work as Head of ICT and Head of Creativity and the Tapestry at Pattison, gives him the necessary background to make our school a beacon of pedagogical light in Coventry in the years to come.”
On Graeme’s contribution to Pattison and Headship so far, Chatsworth Schools’ Founder and CEO, Anita Gleave said “Under Graeme, Pattison has gone from strength to strength, growing by over 60% in terms of pupil roll and having had a very successful ISI inspection in 2023. ISI rated the school as Good academically with Excellent in personal development.
He won’t want to dwell on it in this moment, but it is hard to overstate the enormous impact he has had on thousands of pupils and hundreds of staff in his career as a Head. Fittingly, this impact has probably never been greater felt than at Pattison. His unwavering professionalism, dedication, expertise, and passion for ensuring the very best education for every child in his care is truly inspiring. There will be time enough to thank Graeme for his tremendous service to Pattison but it would be wrong, today, not to congratulate him for three astonishing years ….simply the best!”
