The Village School for Girls
An outstanding school for girls from 2 to 16 years of age.
The Village School for Girls is an outstanding Independent School for girls aged 2 to 16 in Belsize Park. Girls are nurtured in small classes and a stimulating environment including a Creative Lab, adventure playground, theatre and half an acre of outdoor space that provides ample opportunity for sport. Through high-quality teaching girls have meaningful learning experiences that take them well beyond the curriculum.
The Village School girls achieve fantastic results and thrive academically, in a caring environment. At the heart of this approach is the school’s ‘no homework policy’ which means that aged 7, girls are given homework slots during the school day. The school believes that this helps develop excellent independent study skills as well as providing immediate feedback for teachers. Moreover, girls leave school at 4.30pm, having completed their homework and attended an extra-curricular club, meaning that evenings can be spent in quality family time, reading and play. This approach promotes a love of learning and ensures girls are refreshed and focused for school the next day.
The Senior School opens in September 2024 with a Founding Year 7 class.
