Duchess Nursery Abingdon
Our nursery has a warm family-orientated atmosphere, with a homely feel and 3 individual rooms to cater for all of the children’s needs, to help them to flourish and to develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have two lovely garden areas for playing and exploring as well as digging and growing, building our childrens’ physical confidence and environmental knowledge and allowing for outdoor creativity.
We have dedicated and passionate staff whose priority is to ensure a safe and secure environment, to build good relationships with both our children and parents and to support the children to achieve, ready for ‘big school’ ahead.
WHAT OUR PARENTS SAY
The staff are supportive, very friendly and caring staff and want the best for each child. The small nature and low numbers at Abingdon are very important to us. Our son knows all the staff and rooms and so transition between each room and key workers has always been smooth. We love the fact that all the staff know our son’s name and recognise us at pick up or drop off. Our son is happy to talk to any adult in the building and that can only be achieved in this small intimate environment. Food being provided is excellent and a very important factor when we chose this nursery. He enjoys the food and making balancing work/parent life so much easier."
Inspection Report
Children form secure relationships with staff, giving a sense of joy and happiness for everyone at this nursery. Older children have lovely conversations with staff. Children like to talk about what they know and can do. Younger children enjoy cuddles with staff who sing familiar songs to them to support their communication. As staff sing, the children’s faces light up with excitement and they sway to the musical sounds they can hear.
