Chatsworth Schools is delighted to share the appointment of Mrs Katy Joiner as the the new Head of Broughton Manor Preparatory School, Milton Keynes from September 2024.
Katy is an excellent school leader and early years practitioner with fourteen years’ experience as a Headteacher at two independent prep schools. She is currently Head at Hilden Oaks Preparatory School in Kent.
On her appointment, Katy said “My personal vision for Broughton Manor is for every child to say and feel that it is the best school they ever attended, for every staff member that it is the best place they ever worked, and every parent that it is the best decision they ever made for their child.
My husband and I, along with our Golden Doodle dog, Fergal will be relocating over the summer holidays and it will feel a bit like coming home as we lived in Ampthill for 18 years before moving to Kent in 2015. Before then I will be visiting Broughton Manor as often as I can over the Summer Term and look forward to meeting you all and getting to know the Broughton Manor community before officially joining the team in September.”
Current Heads, Jeremy and Rachel Smith are stepping down at the end of the Summer Term to take a career-break and some family time after 11 years of dedicated service to Broughton Manor and their period as Heads from September 2020. They have worked closely with Chatsworth Schools and particularly James Thompson, Executive Principal since last summer to help Broughton Manor become a fully integrated member of the Chatsworth Schools family.
James Thompson said “Jeremy and Rachel are committed to the values, ethos and unique feel of Broughton Manor and will continue to work tirelessly for all the children in their charge. Whilst there will be time later this term for “thank you” and goodbyes, I would like to take the opportunity now to thank them both for everything they have achieved at the school.”
On the announcement of their departure, Jeremy and Rachel said “Throughout our time at Broughton Manor, including the changes and challenges such as navigating the pandemic with great success, the school has maintained its strong ethos of kindness, mutual respect and outstanding learning opportunities. This is something of which we are very proud and we will take with us.”
Chatsworth Schools wishes them every success and happiness in the future. They will always be welcome visitors at Broughton Manor.
We look forward to welcoming Katy to Broughton Manor during the Summer Term to meet with children, staff and parents as we prepare together for the new school year.
