The Chatsworth Schools Nursery Advisory Team

Vivianne Thompson, Director of Early Years (Governor)

I have class taught all ages from 2 to 8 in independent schools around the UK, managed and opened school based early years and nursery departments; most recently completing seven years as Headmistress for The Minors Nursery School for the Alpha Plus Group. I am well experienced within the EYFS and a passionate advocate for value of a solid foundation in the crucial younger years. I gained my BA Hons QTS in Education from Surrey University and enjoy the arts, theatre and baking as well as spending time with my family.

Frances Preston

Frances is a wife, mother of three, Opera Singer and nursery education specialist. She has set up, run and advised on the running of nurseries, and is the founder and owner of the Village Global Nurseries Group – all of which successfully cater to the individual needs of the children and communities around them. Frances is also the founder and director of Uhambo UK, funding the creation of an international standard in inclusion through play. After just a brief meeting with Frances it is clear to see that she is a visionary, and that her passion and dedication for providing quality education shines through all her philanthropic efforts.

Clair Marsh

MA(Ed), PGCE, BSc

I have worked in schools teaching mainly in Early Years and have also held leadership roles in both primary and secondary schools. I have been involved in starting up schools and working in schools that require improvement, helping to develop strategies to enable teachers to meet the children’s needs more effectively. Most recently, I have been involved in curriculum development and assessment to support teachers implementing the best learning experiences in their classrooms, and developing new ways of making data accessible to teachers to ensure pupil’s learning has real quantifiable value.

My husband and our three wonderful children have recently moved back to the U.K. after having lived in the UAE for many years. The children are of course now anxiously awaiting their first snowball fight and sledging experience.
